Johannesburg, 1 November 2005 - Listed fluorspar miner Sallies has appointed
Izak Marais as chief executive. Marais was managing director of the company"s
Witkop mining operation, a position he retains.
Marais succeeds Lindsay Robertson of Sallies" advisors FRM Strategies who acted
as chief executive while a turnaround plan for the company was initiated and
implemented. Robertson remains on the board as a non-executive director.
