DECLARED DIVIDEND ANNOUNCEMENT ON ABSA GROUP LIMITED ENHANCED DIVIDEND
SECURITIES - ("ASAIDB")
With reference to the interim dividend announcement, the Directors of ABSA Group
Limited have declared an interim dividend of 160 cents per ordinary share
payable on Tuesday, 27 December 2005 to ordinary shareholders recorded in the
books of the company at the close of business on Friday, 23 December 2005.
Accordingly, the warrant holders of the Enhanced Dividend Securities, ASAIDB,
will receive an ABSA Group Limited interim dividend of 160 cents per security on
Tuesday, 27 December 2005, in terms of the Cession clause incorporated in the
Supplement between the holders and Investec Bank Limited. The last day to
trade ("cum" the dividend) in order to participate in the dividend will be
Thursday, 15 December 2005.
ASAIDB Enhanced Dividend Securities will commence trading "ex" the dividend from
the commencement of business on Monday, 19 December 2005, and the record date
will be Friday, 23 December 2005.
