Announcement to Foschini shareholders
Foschini shareholders are referred to the announcement dated 29 August 2005
relating to the acquisition by The Standard Bank of South Africa Limited of an
initial 25% of RCS Investment Holdings (Proprietary) Limited with options to
acquire an additional 20% in the future ("the RCS transaction") and are advised
that the conditions precedent relating to the RCS transaction have been
fulfilled. Accordingly, the RCS transaction is now unconditional.
