Change in directorate at African Life Assurance Company Limited
Mr Jeremy Rowse, currently Chief Executive of African Life Assurance Company
Limited, will resign as Chief Executive of the Company effective 31 December
2005. He will, however, remain on the Board of the Company as a non-executive
director.
Mr Heinie Werth, Chief Executive: Developing Markets of Sanlam will take over
Mr Rowse"s responsibilities and reporting structures in African Life from 1
January 2006. Mr Werth was appointed by Sanlam to manage the integration
process of the two companies.
The non-executive directors of African Life Assurance Company Limited resign as
a result of the scheme between Sanlam and African Life having become
unconditional. The following directors resign effective 1 December 2005: Messrs
A H Arnott, W A Jack, J D Krige, T K S Letlape, W T Roos, M Xayiya and his
alternate C W J Lyons and Ms M Mbekeni. Mr S A Nkosi and Mr T A Wixley remain on
the Board of the Company as non-executive directors.
The following directors have been appointed in their stead: Messrs J van Zyl,
H C Werth, J P Moller and Mesdames L Lambrechts and M R Jenks.
