CAUTIONARY ANNOUNCEMENT
Merchant Sponsors is authorised to announce that Alex White and Astrapak Limited
("Astrapak") have entered into negotiations in terms of which Astrapak may make
an offer to acquire 100% of the issued share capital of Alex White pursuant to a
scheme of arrangement in terms of Section 311 of the Companies Act, 1973 (Act 61
of 1973), as amended. These negotiations may have a material effect on the price
of Alex White"s securities. Accordingly, shareholders are advised to exercise
caution when trading in Alex White securities until a further announcement is
made.
