COMPETITION COMMISSION RECOMMENDS VODAFONE ACQUISITION OF VENFIN
Further to the firm intention announcement dated 1 December 2005, the
Competition Commission of South Africa has unconditionally recommended to the
Competition Tribunal that it approve the acquisition of VenFin by Vodafone as
well as the sale of the surplus assets to Newco (the "Transaction").
The Competition Tribunal is expected to rule on the Transaction during January
2006.
