(the "UK TRUSTS") AND THE INVESTEC LIMITED SECURITY PURCHASE AND OPTION SCHEME
2002 TRUST (the " SA TRUST")
Further to the announcement released on the 5th December 2005 detailing the
implementation of the Investec Odd-lot Offer and the repurchase of certain
Investec Shares from Odd-lot holders, Investec received notification from the UK
Trusts and the SA Trusts on the 21st December 2005 of the allocation of these
shares as follows: 306,754 ordinary shares of GBP 0.001 each in Investec plc at
a price of GBP 24.28 per share to Investec Trust (Guernsey) Limited (the
Trustee) as Trustee of the UK Trusts and 285,010 Investec Limited ordinary
shares of ZAR 0.001 each at a price of ZAR 277.64 to the SA Trust.
The Investec plc Ordinary Shares acquired were allocated to the UK Trusts as
follows:

The Investec plc Employee Benefit Trust 100,000
TOTAL 306,754
The aggregate number of shares held by the Trusts following the allocation are
set out below:

The executive directors, as well as persons discharging managerial
responsibilities ("PDMRs") and other employees of Investec are potential
beneficiaries under the UK and / or SA Trusts and therefore for UK Companies Act
purposes are regarded as being interested in all of the unallocated shares.
Despite this technical interest, each executive director and PDMR will only be
entitled to receive shares from the UK and / or SA Trusts in satisfaction of
options previously granted to them.
