NEW MD, FD APPOINTED
Barplats Investments Limited (Barplats) has announced the
appointment of Wayne Robinson and David McAdam to the
positions of Managing Director and Finance Director
respectively with effect from 1 February 2006.
Their appointments follow the resignation of Dr David Salter
as Managing Director and Jonathan Clark as Finance Director.
Barplats Chairman Allen Palmiere said: "The resignations of
both David and Jonathan have been accepted with regret by
the Barplats Board, which however recognises that their
roles in the successful re-commissioning of the Crocodile
River Mine and the remarkable rejuvenation of Barplats as a
whole are now complete."

Wayne and David, whose experience in their respective fields
will position us very well as the company moves into the
next phase of growth and development."
Robinson (43), who has a BSC degree on Mining engineering
from the University of Witwatersrand, is currently General
Manager: Mining at Richards Bay Minerals. His previous
positions included Vice-President: Employee Development:
Managing Director at Driefontein Gold Mine and General
Manager at Beatrix Gold Mine, all within Gold Fields
Limited.
McAdam (46), is an experienced financial accountant with a
B.Com degree from the University of British Columbia.
Currently President of First Line Consultants Inc, a
financial advisory firm based in Houston, Texas. Previously
with Arthur Anderson LLP, his extensive experience includes
financial management, resource optimization and productivity
improvement. He has also managed corporate strategic
planning and implementation, business consolidation and
acquisitions and divestitures.
