DISTRIBUTION ANNOUNCEMENT

The trustees of the Satrix Collective Investment Scheme (being ABSA Bank
Limited) have resolved to make a distribution to holders of Satrix INDI Index
Securities recorded in the register in respect of the quarter ended 30 December
2005. This distribution will:
- be an amount of R 0.0189 cents (one point eight nine cents) per Satrix
INDI Index Security, constituted by:
- 1.89 cents in respect of dividends;
- be made to all holders of Satrix INDI Index Securities recorded in the
register on 30 December 2005;
- be effected on 23rd January 2006.
An unavoidable tracking error was incurred during the quarter as a result of
various corporate transactions whereby the Satrix Indi Trust was forced to sell
certain of its holdings at a discount and repurchase these securities at the
market price in order to ensure perfect ongoing tracking of the FTSE/JSE
Industrial 25 Index. These transactions and the amounts expended to restore the
correct index exposure were:

For the calendar year 2005, the Satrix Indi Index securities had an unaudited
Total Expense Ratio (TER) of 9,7 basis points (0,097%).
