POST BALANCE SHEET EVENTS
CBS was listed on the Main Board of the JSE Ltd on 2 November 2005.
The listing was preceded by a Scheme of Arrangement, unanimously supported by
shareholders, which included the adoption of a debenture trust deed and the
split of the linked unit into two equal amounts.
The listing was pursued under ideal property market conditions, including:
- Lowest interest rates in 30 years
- Stable economy
- Liquid institutional investors
- A property sector that has become a JSE star performer.
The listing was a resounding success, with the institutional portion of the
private placement oversubscribed by 7.5 times. We are happy to report that we
now have in excess of 1 000 shareholders with good liquidity, as evidenced by
the daily JSE trading.
Since listing CBS has acquired seven properties, as detailed below, at a cost
of R122.54 million.
