RESULTS OF CAPITAL RAISING BY BLACKSTAR
Purple Capital informed shareholders of its involvement with Blackstar Investors
PLC ("Blackstar") in its announcement of financial results on 1 November 2005.
Blackstar has today announced that is has raised GBP35 million of equity for
investment in Black Economic Empowerment transactions in South Africa.
Blackstar Managers SA ("Blackstar Managers") (a Luxembourg domiciled company)
will manage the investments of Blackstar, and Purple Capital will receive 49.9%
of the carried interest received by Blackstar Managers on the first GBP5 million
of equity invested by Blackstar and 30% of the carried interest received by
Blackstar Managers on the subsequent GBP30 million of equity invested by
Blackstar.
Blackstar Managers will announce further details in due course.
