CHANGE IN CHAIRMAN AND COMPANY SECRETARY
The Board of UCS advises that Adv Richard Goodman (48) has retired as Chairman
of the Board with effect from 1 February 2006. He will remain a non-executive
director of the company.
Duncan Coles (57) has resigned as Chief Information Officer of the Group and
will succeed Adv Goodman as Chairman. Mr Coles joined UCS in 1979 and has
served the Group in a number of positions over the years. He was appointed to
the Board in 1998. He remains a director of various subsidiary companies of the
Group including UCS Software and UCS Software Manufacturing.
The Board respects Adv Goodman"s decision to lessen his duties at UCS due to
pressure on his time pursuant to his practice as an Advocate of the Cape High
Court. The Board thanks Adv Goodman for his leadership during the 5 years he
served as Chairman and welcomes Mr Coles to the position.
Duncan Coles has also resigned as company secretary and UCS has entered into an
agreement with Corporate Governance CC to fulfil the role of company secretary.
