DECLARED DIVIDEND ANNOUNCEMENT ON BHP BILLITON PLC ENHANCED DIVIDEND SECURITIES

With reference to the dividend announcement, the Directors of BHP Billiton plc
have declared a dividend of 108.045298 cents per ordinary share payable on
Wednesday, 22 March 2006 to ordinary shareholders recorded in the books of the
company at the close of business on Friday, 3 March 2006.
Accordingly, the warrant holders of the Enhanced Dividend Securities, BILIDA,
will receive a BHP Billiton plc dividend of 108.045298 cents per security on
Wednesday, 22 March 2006 in terms of the Cession clause incorporated in the
Supplement between the holders and Investec Bank Limited. The last day to
trade ("cum" the dividend) in order to participate in the dividend will be
Thursday, 23 February 2006.
BILIDA Enhanced Dividend Securities will commence trading "ex" the dividend from
the commencement of business on Friday, 24 February 2006, and the record date
will be Friday, 3 March 2006.
