Termination of listing of the company"s shares on the JSE
Shareholders are referred to the announcements dated 28 July 2004, 19 August
2004, 24 November 2004 and 20 January 2005, detailing, inter alia, Aquila"s
orderly winding-up and voluntary liquidation.
By way of background, following the orderly winding-up of Aquila"s affairs, the
company was placed in members" voluntary liquidation in January 2005 and Janette
Simpson was appointed by the Master of the High Court of South Africa ("the
Court") as the liquidator. The company"s listing was suspended on the JSE
Limited ("the JSE") from the commencement of trade on Friday, 21 January 2005
until such time as the liquidation is complete.
Shareholders are hereby notified that the liquidator has received confirmation
from the Court of the Liquidation and Distribution account and is therefore in a
position to declare and pay a final liquidation distribution to shareholders in
the amount of 14.8924 cents per share ("the distribution"). As the available
funds were invested until the end of March 2006, the final distribution to
shareholders will be carried out on 5 April 2006, after which the listing of the
company"s shares on the JSE will be terminated.
Set out below are the salient dates and times pertaining to the distribution and
the termination of listing of the company"s shares on the JSE:
