RESULT OF EXTRAORDINARY GENERAL MEETING AND BOARD APPOINTMENT
The Directors of Lonrho Africa Plc ("Lonrho Africa" or "the Company") are
pleased to announce that shareholders approved all the resolutions put forward
at the Company"s Extraordinary General Meeting, which was held today.
Lonrho Africa"s newly-endorsed investment strategy will see the Company re-
establishing a significant presence on the African Continent. It is the Board"s
intention to focus on making investments in the natural resources and
infrastructure sectors where suitable activities will include the mining of
advanced precious metals, base metals and energy related projects such as
uranium, oil and gas.
Lonrho Africa is also pleased to announce the appointment of Emma Priestley as
an Executive Director to the Board with immediate effect.
Emma Kinder Priestley, 33, joins Lonrho Africa from Ambrian Partners, the
investment bank specialising in natural resources, where she has worked since
2004 as a corporate broker and adviser. Prior to that, Ms Priestley worked for
VSA Resources in their research and equity sales departments. While her
background is in mining engineering and mineral surveying, she made the
transition to mining research in 2001 when she joined Credit Suisse First
Boston, as a mining analyst. Previously she was with IMC Mackay & Schnellmann,
where she gained on-site experience working on major mining projects for the
World Bank, European Union and various private sector organisations. Emma is a
graduate of the Camborne School of Mines, with a BEng in Mineral Surveying and
Resources Management, and is currently President of the Southern Counties Branch
of the Institute of Materials, Minerals & Mining.

Ms Priestley has no current or past directorships or partnerships over the
previous five years. Lonrho Africa confirms that there is no information to be
disclosed under paragraph (g) (iii) to (viii) of Schedule 2 to the AIM Rules.
