TRADING STATEMENT
ELB is currently finalising its results for the six-months ended 31 December
2005, which will be released before the end of March 2006. In this regard,
shareholders are advised that headline earnings per share ("HEPS") of 25.5 cents
is expected for the six-months ended 31 December 2005, compared to HEPS of 0.5
cents reported for the six-months ended 31 December 2004.
The financial information on which this trading statement is based has not been
reviewed or reported on by the Company"s auditors.
