Completion of ClassiClean acquisition
On 9 December 2005 Tiger Brands announced that its wholly-owned subsidiary
Adcock Ingram Healthcare (Pty) Limited had concluded an agreement for the
acquisition of the business of ClassiClean (Pty) Limited for an undisclosed
amount. The sale was subject to the approval of the Competition Authorities.
Tiger Brands advises that the unconditional approval of the Competition
Authorities has been obtained and the effective date of the acquisition is 25
February 2006.
ClassiClean manufactures and sells washing powders under the "Bio Classic" brand
as well as home care, air care and sanitary care products under the "Classic"
and "Crystal" brands. These brands have built a solid reputation in the market
place and provide Tiger Brands with the opportunity of expanding into a new
market sector, being the fabric care market.
The acquisition, while strategically important, will have no significant impact
on earnings per share or net asset value per share in the current financial
year.
