RESULTS OF THE OFFER
Shareholders are referred to the announcement dated 13 February 2006, giving
details of the mandatory offer by Metallon Ventures (Pty) Limited and Amabubesi
Investments (Pty) Limited (collectively "the BEE consortium") to Basil Read
shareholders to acquire all of their Basil Read shares at an offer price of 82
cents per Basil Read share ("the offer"). The offer closed on Friday, 10 March
2006 and was not accepted by any Basil Read shareholders.
