TRADING STATEMENT
Shareholders are notified that the directors of Kairos are reasonably certain
that the company"s earnings and headline earnings per share ("financial
results") for the year ended 28 February 2006 will be between 45% and 60% lower
than the financial results reported for the year ended 28 February 2005. As
disclosed in the trading statement released on SENS on 28 September 2005, the
decrease in earnings is primarily as a result of an adjustment to estimated
production costs allocated to certain brick types, a once off write-down of non-
saleable inventory at the Witbank Brickworks Division and an increase in
overheads relating to additional management capacity being created to pursue
future growth opportunities. The above average rainfall for the 3 months prior
to 28 February 2006 also had a negative impact on production and sale of bricks.
The financial information on which this trading statement is based has not been
reviewed or reported on by the company"s auditors.
The results for the year ended 28 February 2006 are expected to be published
before the end of May 2006.
