Old Mutual plc (the "Company") announces that, following the issue of
123,077,299 shares in the Company on 23 March 2006 in connection with its
acquisition of Skandia, the following change in notifiable interests, for the
purposes of Part VI of the UK Companies Act 1985, has taken place in its current
issued ordinary share capital:
* the holding of Legal & General Group Plc of 164,506,029 shares now
represents less than 3% of the Company"s current issued ordinary
share capital.
By a notification received on 23 March 2006, the Company was informed that
Barclays plc, through its direct and indirect subsidiaries, had interests in a
total of 169,448,369 shares in the Company, now representing 3.09% of the
Company"s issued ordinary share capital.
The above details of percentage shareholdings are based upon 5,485,164,693
shares, being the total number of shares in the Company in issue at the close of
business on 23 March 2006, and upon the latest details of holdings notified to
the Company by each of the shareholders concerned.
