DISTRIBUTION ANNOUNCEMENT
The trustees of the Satrix Collective Investment Scheme (being ABSA Bank
Limited) have resolved to make a distribution to holders of Satrix 40 securities
recorded in the register in respect of the quarter ended 31 March 2006. This
distribution will:
be an amount of 10,64 cents (ten point six four cents) (R0,1064) per Satrix 40
security;
constituted by 10,64 cents in respect of dividends;
be made to all holders of Satrix 40 securities recorded in the register on 31
March 2006;
be effected on 5th May 2006
A tracking error was incurred during the quarter as a result of the Venfin
transaction whereby the Satrix 40 portfolio was required during the course of
the period to sell its holdings in Venfin at the mandatory price and re-balance
its portfolio in order to ensure ongoing tracking of the FTSE/JSE Top 40 Index.
A total amount of R2 709 749 was expended for this purpose and was funded from
the distributable amount.
For the first quarter 2006, the Satrix 40 securities had a net unaudited Total
Expense Ratio (TER) of 2,6 basis points (0,026%).
