DIRECTORATE CHANGES
Lonrho Africa is pleased to announce the appointment of Martin Horgan as a Non-
Executive Director to the Lonrho Africa Board with effect from the end of May
2006. This appointment follows Richard Wilkinson"s decision to step down as a
Non-Executive Director as of 3 May 2006 after 7 years with the Company.
"I would like to take this opportunity to thank Richard for his dedication to
Lonrho Africa over the years. He was instrumental in changing the fortunes of
the Company and allowing us to begin the process of re-establishing the Lonrho
Africa name. We wish him all the best for the future", said David Lenigas,
Lonrho Africa"s Chief Executive and Chairman.
Mr. Horgan, 32, has more than 10 years experience in the mining sector and most
recently was an Associate Director at Barclays Capital where he worked on the
Mining & Metals Team of the Investment Banking Division. Prior to this Mr.
Horgan was a Mining Engineer at Steffen, Robertson & Kirsten where he carried
out a wide range of projects across the globe. After graduating Mr. Horgan began
his mining career working across a range of pan-African operations and projects
as a Mining Engineer with Gold Fields of South Africa. Mr. Horgan holds a
Bachelor of Engineering Honours Degree from the University of Leeds.
Welcoming the appointment David Lenigas, Lonrho Africa"s Chief Executive and
Chairman, said: "I am pleased that Martin Horgan has agreed to join the Board of
Lonrho Africa. I believe that Lonrho Africa will benefit greatly from his
extensive knowledge of the mining sector and the raising of finance. His
considerable experience will prove invaluable to the implementation of the
Company"s growth strategy."
Martin Horgan has not held any directorships in a listed company or partnerships
in the past five years. There are no further details in relation to the above
appointment which require disclosure under paragraph (g) (iii) to (viii) of
Schedule 2 to the AIM Rules.
