ACQUISITION OF INTEREST IN BLRT INVESTMENTS LIMITED ("BLRT") AND FURTHER
CAUTIONARY ANNOUNCEMENT
Shareholders are referred to the announcement dated 21 April 2006 wherein
they were advised that the company had acquired approximately 47% of BLRT
for R7 million ("the acquisition"). Shareholders are further referred to
the court order under case number 3384/06 issued out of the High Court of
South Africa (Cape of Good Hope Provincial Division) ("the court order")
which was published in inter alia, the Cape Times, the Burger and the
Herald on the 21st of April 2006 and in the Sunday Times on the 30th of
April 2006. The court order resulted from an application brought by Talfu
Investments (Proprietary) Limited ("Talfu") and two others ("the
applicants") against inter alia BLRT, its directors and Cape Empowerment
Trust for the registration by BLRT of a transfer of BLRT shares into
Talfu"s name and for the setting aside of the issue and allotment of
certain shares in BLRT, inter alia, in terms of the acquisition.
The court order was taken by consent between all parties. In terms thereof
the matter will be heard on 6 June 2006 where BLRT will be opposing the
relief sought by the applicants. Cape Empowerment Trust disputes the claim
of the applicants which it believes to be spurious and without merit.
Shareholders are advised to continue exercising caution in relation to
dealing in CET shareholders until a further announcement is made in this
regard.
