BACKGROUND:
Carel Potgieter brings significant hands-on information and communication
technology ("ICT") experience to the board of directors of GijimaAst. He has
been active in the ICT industry since 1984. Carel joined GijimaAst through the
merger of certain businesses of Gijima Info Technologies Afrika (Proprietary)
Limited and AST Group Limited. He was previously Chief Executive Officer of
Gijima Support Services (Proprietary) Limited and was appointed Executive
Director responsible for the Enterprise Application Solutions Division of
GijimaAst in August 2005. Carel is now appointed as the Chief Operating Officer
(COO) of GijimaAst responsible for all the delivery capabilities of the company.
