FURTHER CAUTIONARY ANNOUNCEMENT
It was announced on 12 May 2006 that Brier Global Limited ("Brier"), Flower
Valley Investment Inc.("Flower") and Rivercity Holdings Corp ("River"), which
were part of the Platinum Consortium that controlled Barplats, have sold their
entire shareholding in these entities to Eastern Platinum Limited, a mineral
exploration and development company listed on the Toronto Stock Exchange and the
London Stock Exchange (on the alternative investment market) ("Eastplats")("the
Transaction").
The Barplats board is in the process of creating a sub-committee, who may
appoint independent advisers to advise them on the impact of the Transaction on
Barplats in terms of the Securities Regulation Panel Code on Takeovers and
Mergers.
Shareholders are advised to continue to exercise caution when dealing in their
Barplats securities until a further announcement is made.
