Lonrho Africa was notified on 20 July 2006, in accordance with Sections 198 to
202 of the Companies Act 1985, that following the purchase on 19 July 2006 of
1,200,000 ordinary shares of 1 pence each in the share capital of the Company
("Ordinary Shares"), Peter Cundill & Associates (Bermuda) Ltd., in its capacity
as investment counsel, now holds on behalf of its clients 12,950,000 Ordinary
Shares representing approximately 8.22 per cent. of the Company"s issued share
capital.
