DECLARED INTERIM AND SPECIAL DIVIDEND ANNOUNCEMENT ON ANGLO AMERICAN PLC
ENHANCED DIVIDEND SECURITIES - ("AGLIDC")
With reference to the dividend announcement, the Directors of Anglo American
plc have declared an interim dividend of 224.7465 cents per ordinary share
based on an exchange rate of US$1 = R6.8105, and a special dividend of
456.3035 cents per ordinary share based on an exchange rate of US$1 = R6.8105,
payable simultaneously on Thursday, 21 September 2006 to ordinary shareholders
recorded in the books of the company at the close of business on Friday, 25
August 2006.
Accordingly, the warrant holders of the Enhanced Dividend Securities, AGLIDC
will receive an Anglo American plc dividend of 224.7465 cents per interim
dividend and a special dividend of 456.3035 cents per security payable
simultaneously on Thursday, 21 September 2006, in terms of the Cession clause
incorporated in the Supplement between the holders and Investec Bank Limited.
The last day to trade ("cum" the dividend) in order to participate in the
dividend will be Friday, 18 August 2006.
AGLIDC Enhanced Dividend Securities will commence trading "ex" the dividend
from the commencement of business on Monday, 21 August 2006, and the record
date will be Friday, 25 August 2006.
