FURTHER CAUTIONARY ANNOUNCEMENT
Shareholders are referred to the announcement on 12 May 2006 and the further
cautionary announcement released on SENS on the 22 June 2006 wherein it was
advised that Brier Global Limited ("Brier"), Flower Valley Investment
Inc.("Flower") and Rivercity Holdings Corp ("River"), which were part of the
Platinum Consortium that controlled Barplats, had sold their entire shareholding
in these entities to Eastern Platinum Limited, a mineral exploration and
development company listed on the Toronto Stock Exchange and the London Stock
Exchange (on the alternative investment market) ("Eastplats")("the
Transaction").
The Barplats board is in the process of creating a sub-committee, who may
appoint independent advisers to advise them on the impact of the transaction on
Barplats in terms of the Securities Regulation Panel Code on Takeovers and
Mergers.
Further to the above, shareholders are advised to continue to exercise caution
when dealing in their Barplats securities until a further announcement is made.
