Trading Statement
In terms of the Listings Requirements of the JSE Limited, companies are
required to publish a trading statement as soon as they are satisfied that
a reasonable degree of certainty exists that the financial results for the
period to be reported upon next will differ by at least 20% from that of
the previous corresponding period.
Seardel will shortly be finalizing its results in respect of the year ended
30 June 2006. Shareholders are advised that at this stage it is
anticipated that headline earnings per share will be higher by between 25%
and 35% and earnings per share will be higher by between 30% and 40%
compared to the previous year as adjusted for IFRS. Full details of the
restated 2005 results were published in the interim report to shareholders
for the six months ended December 2005 and reflected headline earnings of
55,5 cents and earnings per share of 60,4 cents.
The financial results on which this trading statement has been based have
not been reviewed or reported on by Seardel"s auditors. The annual report
to shareholders will be released before the end of September 2006.
