Change to the board of directors
In compliance with section 3.59 of the JSE Limited"s Listings Requirements,
shareholders are advised that Mr Jerome Smith has been appointed to the
board of directors of Enaleni as an executive director with effect from 1
September 2006.
Mr Smith, 51, who is the chief executive officer of Enaleni subsidiary
Cipla Medpro, has signed a contract committing himself to the group until
the end of 2008. In his new role, he will oversee Enaleni"s entire
pharmaceutical division and sit on the group"s new executive committee.
Mr Smith is a successful entrepreneur who established Medpro Pharmaceutica,
one of the first generics companies in South Africa, in 1992. He aligned
the company with India"s Cipla Limited to supply many of its products to
the South African market. He has extensive experience with multinational
pharmaceutical companies, including Janssen Pharmaceutica and Wyeth
Laboratories.
