Lonrho Africa was notified on 30 August 2006, in accordance with Sections
198 to 202 of the Companies Act 1985, that following the recent additonal
issue of placing shares on 30 August 2006, and the purchase on 24 August
2006 of 600,000 ordinary shares of 1 pence each in the share capital of the
Company ("Ordinary Shares"), Cundill Investment Research Limited, in its
capacity as investment counsel, now holds on behalf of its clients
20,100,000 Ordinary Shares representing approximately 8.96 per cent. of the
Company"s issued share capital.
