In accordance with Section 3.59 of the JSE listings requirements, Kagiso
herewith announces the appointment of Mr Roger Jardine as the non-executive
chairman of the company following the passing away of Mr Eric Molobi in
June 2006. The company is delighted to announce the appointment of Mr
Murphy Morobe as the Chief Executive Officer of the company with effect
from 1 November 2006.
Mr Morobe attended high school in Soweto during the 1970s and furthered his
studies at various institutions in management and leadership. In 1990, he
was awarded a fellowship at Princeton University. He was Chairman & CEO of
the Financial and Fiscal Commission (1994 - 2004) and the Head of
Communications in the Presidency since July 2004. He served on many boards,
including chairman of Ernst & Young for the period 2001 - 2005. Currently
he is a director of inter alia My Acre of Africa Trust and the Freedom Park
Trust. He is also the chairman of the board of the Johannesburg Housing
Company.
Mr Jardine will assume an executive role in the management of Kagiso Trust
Investments (Proprietary) Limited, the controlling shareholder of the
company. Mr. Jardine"s appointment as Chairman of the company is with
effect from 1 November 2006.
