Lonrho Africa was notified today by Blakeney General Partners IV Limited
("Blakeney General Partners"), in accordance with Sections 198 to 202 of
the Companies Act 1985, that following the purchase on 18 August 2006 of
553,065 ordinary shares of 1 pence each in the share capital of the Company
("Ordinary Shares") by Blakeney LP, Blakeney General Partners, is now
interested in 9,333,065 Ordinary Shares representing approximately 4.16 per
cent of the Company"s issued share capital.
