SUBMISSION OF EMPLOYMENT EQUITY REPORTS PRESS RELEASE
According to reports in the press yesterday, the Minister of Labour released the
names of 13 JSE-listed companies that have allegedly failed to submit Employment
Equity Reports for 2005 to the Department of Labour. CBL was identified as one
of the companies on the list and the company wishes to advise that the
information disclosed in the report is entirely incorrect.
CBL submitted its Employment Equity Reports during September 2005 via registered
post and the company has proof of delivery to the Department of Labour. CBL has
completed all regulatory filings required in terms of the Employment Equity Act
since the introduction of the legislation in 2000.
CBL will institute discussions with the Department of Labour in order to ensure
that this mistake is corrected and to ensure that there is no basis for these
inaccurate reports to be repeated.
