HOLDING IN COMPANY
Lonrho Africa was notified on 15 September 2006, in accordance with Sections 198
to 202 of the Companies Act 1985, that following the purchase on 13 September
2006 of 450,000 ordinary shares of 1 pence each in the share capital of the
Company ("Ordinary Shares"), Cundill Investment Research Limited, in its
capacity as investment counsel, now holds on behalf of its clients 15,050,000
Ordinary Shares representing approximately 6.71 per cent. of the Company"s
issued share capital. Following an internal reorganisation, Cundill Overseas
(Bermuda) Ltd. in its capacity as investment manager currently holds on behalf
of its clients 2.45 per cent. of the Company"s issued share capital.
