CHANGES TO THE BOARD OF GIJIMA AST GROUP LIMITED
In accordance with the requirements of paragraph 3.59 of the JSE Limited
Listings Requirements ("the Listings Requirements"), the following is
disclosed:
DIRECTOR: Mr Hans J Smith
POSITION: Non-Executive director and Chairman of the Board
EFFECTIVE RESIGNATION DATE: 1 January 2007
REASON: Voluntarily step-down as non-executive director and Chairman of
the Board as part of the realignment process of the Group as well as the
Board of directors.
Mr John Miller, Chief Executive Officer, and the other members of the Board
of Directors would like to express their sincere thanks for the leadership
and contributions made by Mr Smith, and his guidance in steering the
company through difficult times.
The Board would also like to announce the appointment of Mr Robert Gumede
as Mr Smith"s successor as Chairman of the Board, effective from 1 January
2007. Mr Gumede is currently an executive director and the Deputy Chairman
of the Board.
