TRADING STATEMENT
In terms of section 3.4.(b) of the JSE Limited Listings Requirements, companies
are required to publish a trading statement as soon as they are reasonably
certain that the financial results for the current reporting period will be more
than 20% different than that of the previous corresponding period.
In light of the above, Excellerate expects to announce earnings per share and
headline earnings per share for the year ended 30 June 2006 that will be 22% to
36% lower and 23% to 37% lower respectively than that of the prior comparative
period. The decrease in results is primarily due to trading losses in the food
division in the extent of R19,6 million. Following a significant rationalisation
of that business, such trading losses are not expected to be repeated in future
years.
The above information has not been reviewed or reported on by the company"s
auditors and the company"s results for the year ended 30 June 2006 are expected
to be published on or about 30 September 2006.
