SALLIES SEEKS TO RESOLVE WITKOP STRIKE
Johannesburg, 11 October 2006 - Sallies today renewed efforts to resolve a wage
dispute at its Witkop fluorspar mine near Zeerust after some 200 NUM members
went on strike there.
Sallies chief executive Izak Marais said management was seeking a further
meeting with the local NUM branch in order to resolve the situation. Management
has made an offer of a 10% wage increase, which NUM has refused.
