TOURVEST ACQUIRES LANDMARK LOWVELD HOTEL
Johannesburg, 24 October 2006 - Tourvest has acquired the well-known Casa do
Sol hotel near Hazyview in Mpumalanga for an undisclosed amount. The hotel,
on a 30 hectare site overlooking the Sabie River Valley, will undergo a major
refurbishment.
Jan Roesch, chief executive of Tourvest Inbound Products, said Casa do Sol was
a long-established landmark on one of South Africa"s major tourist routes with
a strong attraction for international visitors, domestic leisure travellers
and the group and conference sector.
"Its Spanish village style design has an ageless appeal, it offers a wide
range of on-site recreational activities and it provides easy access to the
many activities and attractions in the immediate area," he said.
Most rooms have private gardens or terraces and the executive suite has its
own pool and jacuzzi. The hotel has state-of-the-art conference facilities
and a newly completed health and beauty spa.
Tourvest has recently also acquired the four-star Adderley Hotel in Cape Town
and the Makalali Game Lodge in Limpopo, as well as the hotel management
business Relais Hotels. Relais will manage the refurbishment of Casa do Sol
and the hotel.
