TRADING STATEMENT IN RESPECT OF THE INTERIM PERIOD ENDING 31 DECEMBER 2006
In compliance with the JSE Limited Listings Requirements, unitholders are
advised that Makalani"s headline earnings per linked unit (HEPLU) for the six
months period ending 31 December 2006 is expected to be between 5% - 15% above
the corresponding published results, which were for the eight month period ended
31 December 2005. Makalani has to date substantially converted its cash holding
of R2 billion at 31 December 2005 into invested assets. Makalani"s current
portfolio of invested assets is R1.7 billion.
The financial information on which this trading statement is based has not been
reviewed and reported on by the company"s external auditors.
Makalani"s full financial results for the six month period ending 31 December
2006 will be published on or before 28 February 2007.
