APPOINTMENT OF CHIEF OPERATING OFFICER
Mr Robin Berry has been appointed as Chief Operating Officer ("COO") and an
executive director of Schamin with effect from 1 January 2007.
Mr Berry (44) is a mining engineer. He joins Schamin from Anglo Coal, where he
most recently held the position of Chief Executive Officer Operations - Anglo
Coal SA.
He was responsible for all of Anglo Coal`s South African operations, which
included 10 collieries producing approximately 60 million tons of coal and
employing over 8000 people.
Cas Scharrighuisen, managing director of Schamin commented: "We welcome Robin to
our executive team. He brings a wealth of experience of over 20 years in the
mining industry, having been involved in both managerial and executive positions
in the coal industry. As COO Robin will work closely with me. He broadens and
strengthens our resources at head office as we continue to build on our exciting
growth platform."
