APPOINTMENT OF YOLANDA CUBA AS A NON-EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR OF ABSA GROUP AND ABSA
BANK
Yolanda Cuba has been appointed as a non-executive director on the boards of
both Absa Group and Absa Bank as a representative of Batho Bonke Capital
(Proprietary) Limited, with effect from 6 December 2006.
Ms Cuba, a chartered accountant, is the deputy chief executive officer of
Mvelaphanda Group Limited and on joining the Absa boards will become the
youngest female bank director in the country. She will also serve on the Group
Audit and Compliance Committee.
She replaces Leslie Maasdorp, who resigned from the Absa Group and Absa Bank
boards on 30 September 2006 to take up a position as deputy executive chairman
of Absa Capital.
