IMPORTANT DATES AND TIMES IN RESPECT OF THE SCHEME
1. INTRODUCTION
Consol shareholders ("shareholders") are referred to the announcement dated
18 December 2006 in which shareholders were advised that Newshelf 809
(Proprietary) Limited ("Newshelf 809"), an entity affiliated with Brait
South Africa Limited ("Brait"), had submitted to the board of directors of

If the High Court does not convene the meeting of shareholders to consider
the scheme ("the scheme meeting"), or the scheme meeting having been
convened, the scheme does not become operative for any reason other than
the failure to obtain all the necessary regulatory approvals, Newshelf 809
will make a general offer to shareholders ("the general offer").

all dates and times pertinent thereto will be published on SENS and in the
