Progress report on exploration programme and the issue of permits
The board of Miranda is pleased to inform shareholders that the following
prospecting right has been granted in terms of Section 17 of the Mineral and
Petroleum Resources Development Act, 2002 (Act 28 of 2002).
The group has been granted the right to prospect for gold on the farms
Vogelstruisfontein 34IQ, Palmietkuil 25IQ and Elandsfontein 21 IQ (known as the
Syferbult - Boons Gold project), situated in the magisterial districts of
Ventersdorp and Koster, North West Province, and covering an area of 4,830 ha.
Investigations carried out in the 1980`s show the presence of mineable gold
reserves, and the present status of the project indicates that it is
justifiable to expand the exploration activities in an effort to more
accurately determine the grade and resource size.
The board is currently reviewing all of the existing geological data and plans
additional exploration activities to confirm these results. Miranda will be
issuing environmental guarantees to the Department of Minerals and Energy in
the next few days.
