Progress report on exploration programme and the issue of permits.
The board of Miranda is pleased to inform shareholders that the following
prospecting right has been granted in terms of Section 17 of Mineral and
Petroleum Resources Development Act, 2002 (Act 28 of 2002)
The group has been granted the right to prospect for diamonds on the farm
Makoanyene 667, (known as Makoanyene Mine) situated in the magisterial district
of Kuruman in the Northern Cape, and covering an area of 342.6121 ha. Initial
investigations carried out using remote sensing and aeromagnetic data showed a
cluster of three potential kimberlite pipes. Further investigations and sampling
have shown that at least one of the targets shows exceptional diamond
prospectivity.
The board is currently reviewing all of the existing geological data and plans
additional exploration activities to confirm these results. Miranda will be
issuing environmental guarantees to the Department of Minerals and Energy in the
next few days.
