RETIREMENT OF DIRECTOR
Employees of Edcon are entitled to retire when they reach the age of 55 years.
Mr Adriaan van Aswegen (Assie) Boshoff, having now reached that age, has decided
to retire. In accordance with paragraph 3.59(b) of the Listings Requirements of
JSE Limited, notification is hereby given that Mr Boshoff will cease to be an
executive director on the board of Edcon with effect from 31 March 2007. Until
such time as a replacement candidate has been appointed, his duties as Chief
Executive of the Discount Division will be undertaken by Mr Stephen Ross, the
Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of Edcon.
