ADvTECH ANNOUNCES NEW ACADEMIC ADVISORY COUNCIL MEMBER
ADvTECH Limited, the education, recruitment and human resources group, today
announced the appointment of Professor Stanley Trollip to its Academic Advisory
Council (AAC). Professor Trollip brings to the council more than 30 years of
experience in the education sector.
Professor Trollip is Professor Extraordinaire at the University of Pretoria and
the Tshwane University of Technology. He graduated from the University of
Witwatersrand with a B.Sc. (Statistics) and from the University of Illinois
with an M.Sc. (Educational Psychology) and a Ph.D. (Educational Psychology). He
has written and participated in numerous published works, including books and
articles.
Prof Trollip has had extensive experience in distance and online education,
computer-based instruction and training, human factors in the user interface and
the implementation of technology-based instruction. He also has considerable
expertise in broader fields including sport, aviation and as a novelist.
The AAC is the oversight council for the Independent Institute of Education
(IIE), which is the juristic persona of ADvTECH`s Education division. It is an
advisory structure made up of internal and external stakeholders. Its mandate is
to provide external industry and academic advice and direction to the academic
governance structure of the IIE. The IIE is a wholly owned subsidiary of ADvTECH
Limited, which is listed on the JSE.
