APPOINTMENT OF NEW DIRECTOR
In compliance with Section 3.59 of the Listings Requirements of the JSE
Limited, shareholders are advised that Mr Matthys Jan Loubser has been
appointed as an executive director to the board of directors of KWV
Investments ("the board") with effect from 1 February 2007. Mr Loubser has
been appointed following the retirement of Dr Willem Barnard.
Mr Loubser is a civil engineer by training and a double graduate of the
University of Stellenbosch. He previously held other senior management
positions, as executive director of Pep Limited and the Small Business
Development Corporation. For the past eight years, he was CEO of one of the
Western Cape`s best known companies, SANS Fibres. He has also held a
directorship with Dulux Paints, and is a past chairman of the SA Textile
Industry Export Council.
Dr Barnard, who joined KWV as CEO in 1995, indicated some time ago that he
would be retiring during 2007. During his tenure he was instrumental in
converting KWV from a co-operative into the fully fledged commercial
enterprise which it is today, a role which he performed with distinction.
He also served on various industry bodies. We wish him well in his
retirement.
