Results of General Meeting: Subdivision of Share Capital
1. Introduction
Shareholders are advised that, at the general meeting of Metair held on 12
February 2007, the resolution required to subdivide the share capital of
the company ("the subdivision") was approved by the requisite majority of
shareholders. The resolution has been submitted to the Registrar of
Companies for registration.
2. The subdivision
The authorised and issued share capital of the company consisting of
7 500 000 and 6 065 810 ordinary shares of 50 cents each respectively will
be subdivided by 25 for 1 into 187 500 000 and 151 645 250 ordinary shares
of 2 cents each respectively.
It is anticipated that the subdivision will result in the share price of
Metair on the JSE Limited decreasing by a factor of 25 from the list date
of the subdivision, which is expected to be Monday 26 February 2007.
The subdivision will result in shareholders who have not yet dematerialised
their Metair shares having to surrender their existing certificates of
title in exchange for new certificates reflecting the subdivision and a
circular to shareholders containing a form of surrender will be posted to
shareholders on Friday 16 February 2007.
Shareholders who have dematerialised their shares need take no further
action, as their share statements will automatically be updated in
accordance with the agreement between them and their respective Central
Securities Depository Participant ("CSDP").

Last day to trade in Metair shares prior to Friday 23 February

Record date for the subdivision Friday 2 March
Forms of surrender for old certificates to be Friday 2 March
received by the transfer secretaries in order
for new certificates reflecting the
subdivision to be posted on Monday 5 March
2007, by 12:00
New certificates reflecting the subdivision Monday 5 March
posted where forms of surrender and documents
of title have been received by 12:00 on Friday
2 March 2007. Where forms of surrender and

time and date, new certificates reflecting the
subdivision will be posted within five
business days after receipt
Dematerialised shareholders will have their Monday 5 March
accounts at their CSDP or broker updated
Notes:1. These dates and times are subject to change. Any such
change will be released on SENS and published in the press.
2. Existing shares may not be dematerialised or rematerialised after
Friday 23 February 2007.
4. Circular to shareholders
A circular to Metair shareholders containing details of the subdivision
(containing a form of surrender in respect of the subdivision) will be
posted to shareholders on 16 February 2007.
