TRADING STATEMENT
Clientele Life achieved significant growth in new business in the first six
months ended 31 December 2006. The Embedded Value of new business grew by 80%
to R176 million, an increase of 80% compared to the same period last year.
Despite the significant acquisition costs of the new business which in terms of
the company`s accounting policies are expensed in full as and when incurred,
shareholders are advised that it is expected that both headline earnings and
earnings per share for the six months ended 31 December 2006 will be 20% to 30%
higher than those of the previous comparative period.
The financial information on which this trading statement is based has not been
reviewed or reported on by the group`s auditors. The publication of the results
is expected in the last week of February 2007.
